Elvy Jean is a Belgian musician born in 1980, the father of three children, whose artistic path is rooted in a deep and constant passion for sound creation.

Since adolescence, he has composed songs and instrumental pieces without interruption, exploring the guitar and piano early on as a self-taught musician. This musical curiosity, nurtured by listening and experimentation, led him to develop a personal and sensitive artistic universe.

In 2006, following the release of a first album of songs (Belinda and the Universe), he was noticed by the well-known Liège-based label Jaune Orange. This collaboration marked the beginning of a rich live adventure, with numerous concerts and opening slots for international artists such as Girls in Hawaii, Beirut, Yoav, Beach House, and Mariee Sioux. He also took part in several important music events, including Boutik Rock and the Circuit competition, as well as performing on iconic stages such as the AB and the Botanique.

Elvy Jean has also explored more intimate formats, notably “at-home” concerts, where closeness with the audience allows for a unique and warm musical experience.

Over time, he chose to prioritize a fulfilling family life, while continuing to create with the same sincerity, in a more intimate setting. His music then developed on a daily basis at home, in an authentic atmosphere shaped by natural sounds and charming imperfections: the creak of a chair, birds at the window, the breathing of the space itself—elements that give his compositions a particular sense of humanity.

His project evolved over the years, moving from “Elvy” to “Songs for June,” before returning to his current identity: Elvy Jean, a name that combines his initials and his middle name, in homage to his family roots.

In recent years, the piano has taken a central place in his artistic work. In 2025, he released three solo albums entirely dedicated to this instrument, reflecting a new level of musical maturity and a refined approach to sound.

Today, alongside his work as a composer, Lionel (his given name) teaches music in Louvain-la-Neuve, driven by a desire to pass on his experience, his passion, and the joy of playing. His warm and thoughtful approach is aimed both at beginners and at musicians wishing to deepen their practice, in a spirit of discovery, creativity, and sensitivity.
